Serpentine Gallery

the prompt
Create a performative framework that allowed a digital model of the Serpentine Gallery to morph based off data points, serving as a visual graph that would depict a narrative of inequality. The morph shapes were developed by artist Hito Steyerl and her team based from data points collected from different groups around Hyde Park.
the process
3d character rigging systems were applied to the  architectural model, resulting in a flexible framework that allowed for various forms to be animated through user interaction without taking a hit on performance.

For SXSW 2019 Facebook asked us to organize and guide a collaborations between muralists and digital artists in creating a series of Augmented Reality world filters using their new software Spark AR.
the process
Guiding the digital artists in creating pieces that were contextually relevant to the murals, with animations that made the pieces come to life when viewed through the facebook camera in app.

Create a 30’ x 50’ sunset that does not repeat for 4 hours at an Amazon movie premiere event.
the process
With a quick turnaround time and a limited budget the endless sunset was created through the use of software traditionally used for VJing. The textures for the art created a ‘mural’ look as if the projection had been painted and was animating itself.

Create an interactive augmented reality narrative that unfolds in front of the user with a virtual Washington Hilton where the Ronald Reagan assassination attempt occurred. The piece would serve as marketing material for National Geographic's show with the same name.
the process
Using Unity to develop the interactive experience. The target used was an American bank note, as it is an ubiquitous graphic which can be found anywhere. The experience was designed around an investigation the user was conducting, with interactive elements guiding the user in uncovering the events that transpired that day.

Daffy London's showcase at Siggraph was  a game show concept around tether free social virtual reality.
the process
Utilizing Vive's hand trackers, character rigs were created that allowed people to move freely around a 16'x16' enclosed area. The rigs were then mirrored to the robot characters, each with their own unique expressive movement abilities.
